Roxy & Matt!

Roxy came to me last year and said, "I want my wedding to be fun!"  And it was.  Despite the thunderstorms!  You see, when it comes down to it, you set the tone for your wedding.  It's not the weather or your color palate, your dress or your food — it's you!  If you smile and laugh a lot, so will your guests!  And that happy smile of yours is what they'll remember most!

Thank you so much Matt & Roxy for all your happy smiles!  You make the world awesome.

All the hands...

This arrangement represents a hundred people, maybe more.  

The poppies came from Lee.  She bought the seed from someone who distributes it, and before that someone saved the seed, packaged it, marketed it, and carried it along in the mail.  The begonias came from a greenhouse in Pennsylvania.  My momma grew the astilbe, but before she had it, someone saved seed, planted and loved it until the plant made it to the greenhouse where she bought it!  The campanula came from Mary Ellen and the sweet peas were a roadside surprise in Virginia.  Robert sold me the roses, and the hidden hydrangea was grown by Foxie.  I could go on, but I think you've caught my drift.  There are a lot of people who worked to make this arrangement exist and there are even more who enjoyed it.  And I pray, with every arrangement I make, that all these people will know Jesus, the one who created each special flower and every precious fiber of the human heart.  How He loves us!  All of us.  

Well, goodnight friends!  Russell the neighborhood rooster has ceased his calls, and that means it's time for rest until he harks at dawn's first glow.

Garden Wedding

Amy and I helped Meg Laughon with a big tented garden wedding in Lynchburg at the end of May.  The flowers were delivered in waves — there were so many!  We had a lot of fun :)

This last picture is my favorite.  It's amazing what teamwork can accomplish!   

Thanks so much to Meg for having us!  I've learned a lot from her and we share a deep passion for flowers!  You might remember the post from last fall at Pharsalia - Meg was our teacher :)
