Modern Wedding at 701 Whaley

Happy Friday everyone!  Paused on prepping for our first video shoot for the new bouquet class to share some gorgeous images of Corey & Lindsay's wedding by Fitch and Farrow.  This was our first event of the 2015 season, and I couldn't have pulled it off without my girl Laura at Mayesh — Gorgeous Japanese flowers delivered to my door in the middle of Boone's chilly winter!

Lindsay left the color palette wide open and that let me work a little color magic I'm proud of.  Spirea was lovely and draping, passion vine was wild and rambling.  We had two varieties of the sweetest smelling sweet pea, lilac, fritillaria, anemones, roses and gigantic ranunculus squeezed into her big bouquet!

Cute little girls had olive wreaths and carried a rose.  So sweet, their first moment of seeing Lindsay all dressed up.

This moment, so thick with nerves, happiness and relief all mixed together is a favorite.  I remember fixing my eyes on Jesse's face as I walked down the aisle.  He cried and I laughed.  I decided that morning my mascara was staying on my lashes, and so it did.

Another favorite moment of mine.  This is when the real smiles come out.  When live gets hard and complicated, I like to think about the strength wrapped up in this moment.  Love is a shelter, if you'll let it be.

No project is complete without foxglove.  We used it springing out of the garland on the head table.  Usually this comes out of my garden, but since it was still frozen over, Japan came to the rescue.

And, if you know me...you know how much I love a good donut.  This dessert station was a dream!  I love how Lindsay picked three or so elements to focus on at her event.  That's really all you need.  Lucky for me, she picked flowers and donuts!

This is what Lindsay shared with Style Me Pretty readers...

When I started searching for a florist, all I knew was I wanted someone who could create a wild, rambling bouquet with very uncommon flowers and shape (I am such a lover of wildflowers). I stumbled upon Kelly Perry of Philosophy Flowers and knew the second I saw her arrangements that she was the florist for me. Every single arrangement she made was so different from the next, and I could truly see myself in each one. She paid careful attention to who Corey and I were as individuals, artists, and together, and created that in each flower choice. We knew we wanted very little on our tables, so we went with large floral centerpieces and TONS of candles, and for a main element we had our floral designer create a 22ft. garland of dark greenery that draped across our banquet table with candles mixed in. She tucked unique florals throughout it, and it was an absolute dream.
